The Downside To Being A Horror Fan

Pin It now!

Being a Horror fan is a great thing, but like all things in life it does have it's downside.

Being a Horror fan is awesome but I've always said there's a disadvantage to it, so here is a list of the downsides of being a Horror fan.

Desensitized
After watching so many Horror films you start to realise that it takes a-lot more to get you scared, a whole lot more. Also the kill scenes become less and less shocking to you.
Shock Factor

Remember those 'HOLY SHIT!' moments? Well, have you also realised that there a rarity to you now? The shock factor does wear off quite quickly and are very few and far between in todays industry.
Predictability

Once you've seen a few Horror films you start to get your head around the formula of the films, you know what's going to happen before it happens. It's even worse when you can tell what the endings going to be.
Endless Franchises
A film starts out with a great plot and leaves an open ending, next thing you know you're the only person in the cinema watching part 9, which is most likely to be set in space.
Hype

We've all seen the reports stating how a film is the scariest thing ever released, people fainting in theatres and all that stuff. Then when you watch it and realise it's not that scary at all and end up being very disappointed.

What downside have you noticed to being a Horror fan?
