A ditsy reporter enlists the help of a sleazy private eye to solve a series of gory killings of female strippers at a Chicago nightclub.
There are some names in film that when you hear them you know exactly what you're in for, Herschell Gordon Lewis is one of them.
The 70's was a great time for low budget Horror, filled with gore and nudity they appealed to a wide audience and gained notoriety and spread through word of mouth.
"The Gore Gore Girls" is a fine example of this and for good reason, Lewis was known for this sort of film and this was hailed as his pinnacle film of the era.
Henny Youngman (the only big name to grace any of Lewis' horror films) does a fine job and seems to lift the cast around him to a new level. That doesn't mean they're great but for a 70's b-movie it works and adds to it's charm.
One thing I truly love about this film is it's effects, yes they maybe cheap but it adds a disturbing factor to the film and add that in with a bit of comedy it makes for all round entertainment. Lewis definitely knew what he was going for and he managed to pull it off.
